Seven Minutes in Heaven

We had a great reading of the play I've been developing with Steven Levenson last night. It can be completely terrifying to hear a play out loud for the first time but last night went really well. Some wonderful actors (Kate Roberts, Maria Elena Ramirez, Katya Campbell, Josh Segarra, Gio Perez and Teddy Bergman) came over to my apartment, and, over wine and cheese and figs we read the play. The designers (Amy Altadonna, Denise Maroney, and Erica Rice) and I were laughing, smiling and/or wincing at the awkwardness of adolescence the entire time. Steven's words rang very true for all of us. Oh yes, to be 15 in any decade can be quite frightful-- but we have found the 90s to be an especially rich pool from which to draw.

Tickets are on sale now for our one-night abridged version of the show, happening on November 20th as part of Ars Nova's ANT Fest. They are only $10 and we are part of a great double-bill; we share the evening with the Amy Herzog/Portia Krieger collaboration Love Song in Two Voices.

I am also currently fundraising for a longer run of the show... My company, Nest Arts is producing the show and we are accepting donations large and small. We have a matching grant for all funds raised by November 15th-- so, if you can, please consider making a contribution as soon as possible. Les Freres Corbusier is acting as our fiscal sponsor so all donations are tax-deductible. We are very, very grateful.
Checks should be made payable to Les Freres Corbusier with Nest Arts in the memo line.
You can send them to:
