the pre-show look: "What is this place? It's no place."
Nan's monologue, the stage left wall gradually activated with the sense of an expressionistic blueprint... Walker and Nan went through the paces of their actions on that evening, May 12th, 1972, what their eight- and ten-year old selves did. "Her body pierced the glass facade."
Theo's bursting forth in Act II. "It came to me whole, like Emerson on the IRT."
"Isn't that moment thrilling, right before it starts, and everything turns purple and the awnings shake and the buildings ignite from the inside? I love that part."

"Theo?" ... "Lina's here. We ran into each other, we s-saw a movie-- the rain-- she stayed."
"Oh look-- an hour from now I'll cook us a simply wretched breakfast, and we'll sit together and plan what to tell Theo when he gets back, and wallow in remorse, and plot every second of the next two hundred years but this minute: turn around. Just draw something. Make a home.

Its been a while since I've seen what your up to. The play in texas looks like it was beautiful. I love the set. I especially love the picture of the actor being rained on. Lots of love. Let me know when you back in CA -Aviva
