firsts

I am sitting on a plane writing to you from a mile-high! Internet on an airplane? Amazing.
I am moving back to NY from LA. very exciting...
AND
I am currently directing Richard Greenberg's Three Days of Rain for the NY & TX-based Amphibian Stage. We just finished up our first week of rehearsal and I couldn't be happier with the cast, design team, and the progress we have been making.

Our cast is
Walker/Ned: Caleb Scott
Nan/Lina: Katya Campbell
Pip/Theo: Mycah Hogan

and our creative team is:
Bob Lavallee, Scenic
Paul Carey, Costume
MuTTT L. Dogg, Sound
and Chad R. Jung, Lighting

We are rehearsing in NY but head down to Texas right before Labor Day for a September 10th opening. If you are in the area-- please come see us~ I promise you a gorgeous and emotionally-potent evening...

Also, One Child Born, the one-woman show I'm directing that uses the music of Laura Nyro has received interest from Joe's Pub for fall dates. Writer/performer Kate Ferber, playwright Louis Greenstein and I are continuing to finesse the piece. After a sold-out premiere at the Laurie Beechman theater in July-- we are confident there is an eager audience for this show!

Seven Minutes in Heaven, the manic, hyper-charged, genre-blurring comedy I am developing with playwright Steven Levenson just received a spot in Ars Nova's ANT Fest. On Friday, November 20th look for seven 14 year-olds to transform Ars Nova into a shag-carpeted, drop-ceilinged, wood-paneled basement as we relive together all the party games we loved/loathed from middle school. Its 1995 and Mom might be home, but she’s definitely upstairs.
